Funding for our Keep My Tennessee Home (KMTH) programs is from the TARP, or Troubled Assets Relief Program. The troubled assets relief program was designed to take failing mortgages off the books of financial institutions in America, and onto the books of the federal government. When the financial institutions paid back the loans, these funds were moved by the U.S. Treasury into the Hardest Hit Fund. U.S. Treasury then disbursed these funds to states across the country to help struggling homeowners. Tennessee named their program the Keep My Tennessee Home program.
